People’s World Carnival Band

Peoples World Carnival
Band has a wide membership with people from all ethnic
backgrounds, cultures, ages and abilities. They are mostly
from North London from the boroughs of Haringey, Hackney,
Islington and Enfield. We also try to ensure that costumes
are well made and affordable as many of our band members are
on low incomes. There are currently approximately 150
members and another 200 friends of the Band who support
events, but do not take part in Carnival. |
|
|
|
We are a community
organisation and all of our income is generated through
either grant aid or fund raising events and activities. The
organisation is run by a committee of 12 elected or co-opted
members, who are allocated particular responsibilities eg.
Finance, Secretary, Publicity, Costume Production, Events
Organising etc. who meet regularly to discuss the
organisation of Carnival, plan events and work together on
the construction of costumes. All decisions are minuted and
action points checked at subsequent meetings. |
